On Friday, 13 September 2024, our weekend together began with a relaxed get-together at the Gasthof Almanka in Oybin, where the IG Englische Widder, the international English Lop interest group, had a table reserved from 3 pm. In the evening a historical tour of Oybin Castle was on the programme. The impressive castle complex gave a fascinating insight into the history of the region. We rounded off the evening back at the Almanka in good spirits.

On Saturday, 14 September 2024, we met for an interesting guided tour of the rabbit museum in Dürrhennersdorf. Afterwards we made a lunch stop at “Im Staad’l” in Ebersbach-Neugersdorf.

At 4 pm we met for the stock assessment followed by the annual general meeting at the Vereinshaus Hartau clubhouse. Several youngsters of different colour varieties and an adult doe were presented and discussed from a breeding point of view. The meeting offered an opportunity to exchange views on current topics and upcoming plans in the IG.

The programme planned for Sunday unfortunately had to be cancelled because of the weather, so the meeting officially ended on Saturday evening. We thank our host Anett Hilse for organising the meeting. The next IG meeting will take place from 5 to 7 September 2025 at the breeding partnership (ZGM) of Kurt and Jasmin Groß and Mike Schubert-Groß in Freiberg am Neckar.
